Itinerary
Day 1 Beijing (D)
On arrival transfer to the luxury 5 star King Wing Hot Springs Hotel.
Day 2 Beijing (B/L/D)
Morning tour of Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. After lunch
visit the Summer Palace. This evening enjoy an exciting Chinese Acrobatic
Show.
Day 3 Beijing (B)
Morning tour of the Temple of Heaven. Rest of day free.
Day 4 Beijing (B/L/D)
In the morning, travel to China's most famous icon, the Great Wall.
After lunch visit the Ming Dynasty Tombs and a cloisonn?factory. For
dinner, enjoy world famous Peking Duck.
Day 5 Beijing - Xi'an (B/L)
Day free until late afternoon transfer to the Beijing Railway Station
for your overnight train to Xi'an. You 'll travel in a four berth soft-sleeper.
Day 6 Xi'an (L/D)
Arrive early in the morning. Today's tour includes visits to the Bell
and Drum Towers, the Moslem Quarter, the City Wall and the Shaanxi Museum.
Stay in the 4 star Jianguo Hotel.
Day 7 Xi'an (B/L/D)
Morning tour to the famous Terracotta Warriors. After lunch, visit the
Banpo Museum on the site of the 6000 year old Banpo Village.
Day 8 Xi'an - Wuhan (B/L/D)
After breakfast, fly to Wuhan, where you will visit the Yellow Crane
Tower for spectacular city views. Afternoon travel to Yichang by coach
to board your luxury cruise boat.
Day 9 Yangtze River Cruise (B/L/D)
Your cruise commences. The boat leaves Yichang and travels upstream
through spectacularly changing scenery. Morning passage through one
of the world's largest locks and past the new Yangtze River dam site.
In the afternoon travel through the longest of the Three Gorges - The
Xiling Gorge. Evening enter-tainment includes a Welcome Party hosted
by your Captain and a traditional Chinese Cultural Show.
Day 10 Yangtze River Cruise (B/L/D)
After breakfast, travel in long boats along the Shennong Stream Gorge,
with its precipitous cliffs, waterfalls and towering peaks. In the after-noon
enjoy the scenery of the Wu and Qutang Gorges from the top deck of your
cruise boat.
Day 11 Yangtze River Cruise (B/L/D)
Morning excur-sion to the "Ghost City" of Fengdu. In the afternoon
continue cruising upstream through the Middle Yangtze Region. This evening,
the Captain's farewell dinner.
Day 12 Chongqing - Guilin (B/L/D)
Morning city tour of the Zoo (where you should see a Chinese panda)
and to the magnificent City Hall. After lunch fly to Guilin. On arrival,
visit the dazzlingly beautiful Reed Flute Caves, and Fubo Hill for scenic
views of Guilin City and the surrounding countryside. You 'll stay at
the 4 star Park Hotel.
Day 13 Guilin (B/L/D)
After breakfast, board a Li River cruise boat for a scenic journey to
the town of Yangshuo. On arrival, spend some time exploring the streets
of this small market town. Later, travel by coach back to Guilin through
delightful countryside.
Day 14 Guilin - Hong Kong (B)
Morning flight to Hong Kong. On arrival, transfer to your downtown first
class hotel.
Day 15 Hong Kong - Australia
Optional free city tour in the morning, before your afternoon flight
to home.
Day 16 Australia
Arrive back home.
