Itinerary
Day 1 Shanghai (D)
On arrival, transfer to the 4 star Grand You You Hotel.
Day 2 Shanghai - Zhouzhuang - Shanghai (B/L/D)
After breakfast drive to the ancient river town of Zhouzhuang with its arched stone bridges spanning small canals. After lunch return by coach to Shanghai. Your night tour of Shanghai, includes a visit to the Oriental Pearl Tower (third highest in the world), for spectacular views of the city by night.
Day 3 Shanghai - Yichang (B/L/D)
Today's sightseeing tour includes visits to the Bund, Nanjing Road Shopping District, and the Yu Gardens. After lunch fly to Yichang to board your luxury cruise boat.
Day 4 Yangtze River Cruise (B/L/D)
Your cruise com-mences. The boat leaves Yichang and travels upstream through spectacular, changing scenery. Morning passage through one of the world's largest locks and past the new dam site at Sandouping. In the afternoon travel through the longest of the Three Gorges -The Xiling Gorge. Evening entertainment includes the Captain's Welcome Party and traditional Chinese Cultural Show.
Day 5 Yangtze River Cruise (B/L/D)
After breakfast, travel in longboats along the Shennong Stream Gorge, with its precipitous cliffs, waterfalls and towering peaks. In the afternoon enjoy the scenery of the Wu and Qutang Gorges from the top deck of your cruise boat.
Day 6 Yangtze River Cruise (B/L/D)
Morning excursion to the "Ghost City" of Fengdu. In the after-noon continue cruising upstream through the Middle Yangtze Region. This evening, enjoy the Captain's farewell dinner.
Day 7 Chongqing - Chengdu (B/L/D)
Morning arrival in Chongqing. Travel by coach to Chengdu to visit the Du Fu Cottage and Wuhou Temple. Overnight accommodation at the 4 star Amara Hotel.
Day 8 Chengdu - Maoxian (B/L/D)
Visit the Panda Research Centre before leaving Chengdu. Travel along the Min River observing the lifestyle of Tibetan and Qiang minority groups. Overnight stay at the Qianglin Grand Hotel.
Day 9 Maoxian - Jiuzhaigou (B/L/D)
Drive to Jiuzhaigou to see the remains of the Diexi earthquake. Stay at the 4 star Jiuzhai Valley Hotel.
Day 10 Jiuzhaigou (B/L/D)
Visit Changhai, the Five Coloured Pool, Pearl Shoal, the Nuorilang Falls and the Jiuzhai Valley (World Heritage Area).
Day 11 Jiuzhaigou - Maoxian (B/L/D)
Visit the source of the Minjiang River, then drive back to Maoxian. Overnight at the Qianglin Grand Hotel.
Day 12 Maoxian - Chengdu (B/L/D)
Today you will visit the ancient Dujiangyan Irrigation Project. Overnight stay at the 4 star Amara Hotel.
Day 13 Chengdu - Guangzhou (B/L/D)
After break-fast your flight to Guangzhou. On arrival transfer to the 4 star Landmark Hotel.
Day 14 Guangzhou - Australia (B/L)
Morning tour of Guangzhou (Canton). After lunch transfer to the airport for your return flight to home.
Day 15 Australia
Arrive back home.
