(Shanghai, Yichang, Yangtze River Cruise, Chongqing, Xi'an, Beijing)
Day 1 Arrive in Shanghai (D)
Arrive at Shanghai Pudong International Airport,
where you will be greeted by our tour guide and transferred to your hotel.
Day 2 Shanghai (B,L,D)
In the morning, tour around Xitang, known as the famous water town. Then
wonder around the bund on the waterfront lined with colonial buildings
and look into China's future across the river at the skylines of the New
Shanghai. Take a tour of the Oriental Pearl Tower to have bird's eye view
of Shanghai.
Day 3 Shanghai-Yichang (B,L,D)
Morning tour to visit the Yu Garden, where old Shanghai still retains
its charm. Next stop is "Pedestrian Only" Nanjing Road, the
most sophisticated shopping and tourist complex in Shanghai, attracting
more than 1 million visitors every day. In the afternoon, take a flight
to Yichang. Board on a cruise after dinner. Now your Yangtze River Adventure
has begun.
Day 4 Yangtze River (Yichang, Gezhou Dam, Xiling Gorge)

Approaching the entrance to Three Gorges, visit the Gezhou Dam, the biggest
dam along the Yangtze River before the Three Gorges Dam project was proposed.
Sailing through Xiling Gorge, the longest gorge known for its swift currents
and dangerous shoal. Here you will see the site of Three Gorges Dam, the
biggest dam being built in the world and a large water conservation project
for flood control, generation, cultivation and flood discharge.
Day 5 Yangtze River (Three Lesser Gorges, Wu Gorge)

Sailing through Wu Gorge, famous for its meandering waterways. Additionally,
the fog bestows an indistinct and attractive beauty. Excursion in a small
boat exploring the Three Lesser Gorges along the Daning River. (Three
Lesser Gorges and the Shengnong Stream are alternate if the water level
changed.) The captain will host a dinner tonight.
Day 6 Yangtze River (Qutang Gorge)- Wanxian (B,L,D)
Sailing through Qutang Gorge, the shortest, narrowest but most imposing
section of the three gorges with majestic mountains soaring into the sky
along both sides. Disembark for a visit to Wanxian, famous for its suspended
coffin, silk, leather, bamboo, wood, etc.(Or visit Fengdu, known as the
famous Ghost Town)
Day 7 Yangtze River-Chongqing-Xi'an (B,L,D)
Your Yangtze River Adventure ends in the city of Chongqing, the newest
and fourth municipality city under China's central government. It presents
a unique magnificent picture as miles of the roads and streets winding
up and down the hills and along the riverbanks. After disembarkation,
visit Mt. Piba, on the top of which you will get a bird's eye view of
the city's landscape at night. You may have the opportunity to see pandas
at the zoo . Then take a flight to the ancient city Xi'an, which was once
vied with Rome and later Constantinople for the title of greatest city
in the world.
Day 8 Xi'an (B,L,D)
Day tour to the most important archeological discovery the life-size and
lifelike Terracotta Army, acclaimed as the Eighth Wonder of the World,
and the old imperial bathhouse of the Huaqing Hot Springs, a used-to-be
Tang-dynasty pleasure resort. Dumpling Banquet dinner has been arranged
tonight. Enjoy a good night of Tang Dynasty Dinner Show.
Day 9 Xi'an-Beijing (B,L,D)
Pay a visit to the City Wall, one of the few ancient city walls still
visible in China; and the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Then fly to Beijing.
Day 10 Beijing (B,L,D)
Morning trip to the well-known Tian'anmen Square, the largest public square
in the world. Followed by the visit of the Forbidden City, which was the
palace for 24 Ming and Qing Dynasty emperors who ruled China for over
500 years. Visit the Summer Palace, the famous resort of Empress Dowager
Ci Xi. Feast your eyes on the Long Corridor, Longevity Hill, and Kunming
Lake. Then visit to the Temple of Heaven, the country's largest temple
complex, where Ming and Qing monarchs prayed for good harvests. Enjoy
an evening of traditional Chinese culture with Beijing Opera.
Day 11 Beijing (B,L,D)
Morning tour to the magnificent Great Wall, the only man-made object that
can be observed from the moon; and one of the world's most popular tourist
attractions. After lunch, drive to the Ming Tombs, the last resting place
of the 13 emperors of the Ming Dynasty. Enjoy Peking Duck dinner.
Day 12 Beijing-Home (B)
After breakfast you will take a departure transfer to the airport for
the flight back home.
